Something straight from a dream on a warm summer afternoon
Smiling friends who I've come to consider as family; everyone right where they should be
Sometimes gratitude falls through the cracks as too much is left unsaid
But knowing you makes this life much more bearable
The simple things, a needed embrace or a phone call
So I guess this will be the last in a long while
I'm sure going to miss you, my friend
In the best case scenario, I'll barely hear from you
You'll be deeply immersed in your studies or else making friends with people who I've never met
But if I could request something small and self-indulgent, drop a line to us every once in a while
Oh Virginia, your laughter still rings in my ear
Keep us with you as you build a life of your own
We'll see you when you come back home
I'll be ready if ever you might need a hand
Thank you for being my friend
